Why do people think Carrie is on Netflix?
Two reasons. First, Netflix has carried Stephen King adaptations before, so people assume every new King show lands there. Second, “Carrie” is a famous name — the 1976 film, the 2013 remake, and now this series all share it, and older versions have rotated through different services over the years. This 2026 series, though, is a Prime Video original from the start.
What is Carrie (2026) about?
A modern retelling of Stephen King’s first novel. Carrie White is a shy, bullied high schooler with a fanatically religious mother and a secret: she has telekinetic powers. When her classmates’ cruelty peaks at the prom, her powers erupt in one of horror’s most famous finales. This version comes from Mike Flanagan, and it leans harder into character and dread than into jump scares.
