Minions & Monsters (2026) — Peacock Streaming Date, Cast & Trailer
The Minions are back — and this time they are taking on Hollywood. Minions & Monsters arrives on Peacock on October 28, after a summer in theaters that earned $523 million worldwide. Set in 1920s Hollywood, the story follows James, Henry and Ed — three Minions who chase their dream of movie stardom, become the biggest little stars in town, lose everything, and then accidentally unleash real monsters on the world. Now they have to clean up the chaos they created and save the planet from the mayhem. Directed by Pierre Coffin (the voice of the Minions since 2010), with Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan and Phil LaMarr, it is the third Minions film and the seventh in the Despicable Me franchise — and Peacock is adding Minions, Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 alongside it for a marathon.

Reception & Box Office Analysis
Minions & Monsters did not need a record opening to become a hit — it needed legs, and it got them. The film earned $523 million worldwide from its summer theatrical run, according to reporting cited by Variety. Its domestic opening was softer than franchise history: $61.4 million over its first five days, against roughly $123 million for Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022 and about $122 million for Despicable Me 4 in 2024. The difference was made up overseas, where family audiences carried it through the summer, and by strong word of mouth — the film holds a reported 90% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and an A- CinemaScore from audiences.
That profile explains why the Peacock debut matters more than usual. This is not a film most families rushed to see on opening weekend; it is a film they catch up with at home, and a 90-minute, PG-rated Minions movie landing the week of Halloween is built for exactly that. Peacock clearly agrees: alongside the film, the platform is adding the original Minions and the first two Despicable Me films, turning one streaming debut into a full franchise marathon. If you are deciding what to watch first, start here, then go back to the originals — the 1920s Hollywood setting plays even better once you know how the Minions usually operate.
