The Storm (2026) — Netflix’s Swedish Dark Comedy from the Baby Reindeer Director
Netflix’s The Storm (Stormen) is the kind of film that turns one bad evening into unforgettable cinema. Filip’s 45th birthday dinner at his newly bought farm in northern Sweden starts as a celebration with his closest friends — until a violent snowstorm traps them all inside.
With the power out and no way to leave, the polished small talk collapses: old conflicts resurface, secrets spill out, and carefully buried feelings erupt across the dinner table. Written, directed by and starring Josephine Bornebusch — who directed episodes of Baby Reindeer and Bad Sisters — this tense character-driven dark comedy puts a star-studded Swedish ensemble (Gustaf Skarsgård, Aliette Opheim, Filip Berg and more) in one room and lets the storm do the rest. A perfect mid-October stream.
